Personalized Academic Support
First Light Academic
Sometimes all it takes is seeing it differently.
Personalized tutoring and academic coaching that helps students understand the material, organize the chaos, and build the confidence to do more on their own.
She gets it. Because she's still doing it.
Arushi isn't trying to remember what it felt like to be a student. She is one.
She understands what it's like to balance advanced classes, tests, projects, activities, research, deadlines, and those weeks when everything somehow seems to be due at once.
That makes First Light sessions feel a little different.
- No lectures.
- No judgment.
- No "you should already know this."
Just someone saying:
"Okay. Show me where you got lost. We'll start there."

What we offer
Math & Science
One-on-One Tutoring
Personalized math and science support that starts with figuring out exactly where the student became confused, then rebuilding understanding from there.

For the student who feels overwhelmed and doesn't know where to begin. Together, Arushi and the student review assignments, upcoming tests, projects, grades, and deadlines, then create a realistic plan for moving forward.
Weekly Planning
Sunday Reset
A weekly academic planning session designed to help students start the week organized instead of already behind. Review upcoming assignments, tests, projects, and deadlines and create a manageable plan for the week.
All Subjects

Virtual · As Available
SOS Sessions
When a student has an upcoming test, difficult assignment, or an "I seriously do not understand this" moment, shorter virtual sessions are available when scheduling allows. Availability is not guaranteed same-day.
Real Questions. Real Answers.
What would you ask Arushi?
Student
"I have three tests this week. What do I study first?"
Arushi
"Start with the one you could explain the least without looking at your notes. That's usually where we find the gap."
Student
"I understood it when my teacher did it. Now I can't do it myself."
Arushi
"Perfect. That tells us exactly where to start."
How It Works
Every session has a purpose
01
Find the Gap
Where did things stop making sense?
02
Make It Click
Explain the concept differently until the student understands the why, not just the answer.
03
Practice It
Work together until the student can do it independently.
04
Build the Habit
Turn what worked into a strategy the student can use again.
"The goal isn't to need a tutor forever. It's to learn how to need one less."
Arushi's Study Shelf
Arushi's Study Shelf
Study tips, tools, and routines that actually work.
The 10-Minute Start
When an assignment feels overwhelming, commit to doing only ten minutes. Starting is often the hardest part.
Explain It Without Your Notes
If you can explain a concept out loud without looking at your notes, you probably understand it. If you can't, you just found what to study.
Plan Backward
Don't start with "When should I study?" Start with the test date and work backward.

What Families Say
Real results, real families
Trusted by local families for ongoing academic support, not just the night before the test.
"More than just tutoring."
Arushi has helped our kids tremendously with math and science, but what really sets her apart is everything she teaches beyond the subject matter. She has helped them build better study habits, organize their assignments, manage their time, and plan ahead. She is patient, relatable, and knows how to explain things in a way that makes sense to them. We are happy to see her expanding her reach!
The Linar Family
Parents of students, ages 12 & 8
"She's become part of their academic routine."
Arushi has been working with our twin boys for about a month, helping them strengthen their academics while also becoming more organized and independent students. She works with them on study skills, scheduling, time management, and preparation, not just the assignment in front of them. Her consistency and ability to connect with them has made such a difference.
The Bryant Family
Parents of 11-year-old twins
"She made everything feel much less overwhelming."
Arushi helped me prepare for the ACT in a way that made everything feel much less overwhelming. She helped me figure out what I actually needed to focus on, explained things in a way that made sense to me, and gave me more confidence going into the exam. I ended up increasing my score by 3 points, and I am so glad I had her help.

Sometimes it's understanding the equation.
Sometimes it's organizing the week.
